Wow, I cannot believe how close I am to finishing this deck. It's a little mind-blowing, really. I've never tackled a project of this scope before, and I've definitely learned a lot along the way. I've gotten a couple of questions over the duration of this project, so I'm going to answer them here for the curious.
Q: Why don't the jack's sketches exceed the borders, when the king's (and now queen's) do?
A: Well, it was originally done as another way to enforce hierarchy. Jacks are less important, therefore they don't break the borders. It wasn't until after I finished painting the jacks that I realized that the queens, as the in-between, would have to do something else. At this point, I wish I had the jacks stay within the borders, the queen's sketch exceed the borders, and the kings PAINTING break the borders. But as it is, I'm going to change the jacks so their sketches exceed the borders as well. I'll save the progression thing for the next deck, I suppose.
TL,DR; I'm going to fix that.
Q: Are you using reference?
A: Yes. Most of the poses are Frankensteined in my imagination, though. The queens are all from posespace.com, and I posed for all the male photos. I've gotten really good at striking a pose in the 10 second timer my little point and shoot has. Forever alone like a BOSS.
Q: Why are the kings cut off at the waist?
A: No further questions will be taken at this time.
Well, that's all for now. The cards will be for sale at AX, so if anyone checks this page, I hope to see you there!
